How gosh-darn sweet is this little one? We had the pleasure of photographing this posh little half-pint in studio, and also at Leo Carillo Ranch.
Formal portraits are important to some families, especially around the holidays when the kids get dressed up in their special suits and dresses, but we believe children are usually more natural in an outdoor environment, so we headed out to the Ranch.
Nikkie and I were just dying with this aDORable dress and hat. We loved the dress, but the hat was just the PERFECT accessory! Toooo cute!
Love this look . . .
Professional makeup for photography makes such a difference in photographs. It’s different than your everyday “street makeup”, and is designed to work with the camera. While most people understand professional makeup is a necessity on the wedding day, they tend to underestimate how it can enhance your portrait in other situations – like updating your business headshot, social media profile photos, boudoir photography, high school senior portraits, family portraits, and the list goes on.
Here’s a quick, but impressive video of some of our clients, including some before and afters.
One of our recent clients wrote this beautiful note, that brought tears to our eyes, after her session:I just wanted to thank both of you for an amazing experience yesterday.
When you showed me some of my photos during the shoot yesterday, I could
hardly believe that was me. Having a sister who takes great photos and
knows just how to pose always made me feel like the ugly duckling. You are
true artists and are giving a gift to those you serve. CONFIDENCE! We
always see our flaws and rarely get to see how others view us. Your photos
will give me inspiration to let my true self shine through. You showed me
that I can be just as beautiful as any of those girls in the magazines, with
a little help from my friends at Blueflair
And here’s this beautiful lady who is sporting her confidence!
We’ve been delighted to be working with Christy Stevenson for the last several months. Clients who work with us and Christy, as a team, are just blown away. Ladies are reporting that they feel so pampered, “like a princess”. So, without further ado, we’d like to introduce you to Christy Stevenson. She has an impressive list of credits and clients, and she even has her own cosmetic line! Check back for more info as we add Christy to our growing list of Preferred Vendors. Christy has been a joy to work with, and our clients love her as well, she’s just a sweetie!
We’re looking forward to incorporating Christy’s wonderful makeup artistry and styling skills into more of our sessions. Moms, how fabulous would it be to have a preconsultation of picking out your wardrobe options, tips for hairstyle, and professional makeup for your updated family portraits? Talk about getting the royal treatment!

Congratulations to Virginia and David. They’re such a playful and fun couple, and it was great to capture that on their wedding day. Virginia has the most contagious laugh that makes everyone smile. And David was so cute fussing about all the details. In fact, he proudly claimed himself a “groomzilla” – but not the mean kind!
This was a pretty warm day – but the breeze coming off the water was just great! Love how it was blowing her veil and dress both!
David looking dapper!
Awwww, their first look. We set David up, and then had Virginia come in behind him. Then he got to turn around and see her. Then we gave them a few minutes to just slow down and take it all in.
So this is the little one who took her time coming out to meet all of us, and while waiting, her parents nicknamed her, “Bean”. How cute is that? Well, Little Miss Bean didn’t want to miss a thing, and she was so alert and observant throughout our session. At the very end, she took a cat nap, but during the session, we captured a lot of images with eyes wide open – which is always a favorite for grandparents! Enjoy the previews . . . .
Isn’t she such a pretty girl?
I call this “mother’s fascination”. I remember those days of just sitting and staring at this little being that’s yours, and the wonder of it all!
And then there’s daddy who is just wrapped soooo tight around Bean’s little finger!
And dad already has a “groupie”!
This is what we call a “foot-o finish”! ;-D

Introducing Riley, the cutest little Yankee – in San Diego! If you remember the parents, they’re HUGE Yankees fan, so of course we had to break out the baseball and mitt for a couple of Riley’s portraits.
And just to show what a cool baby, he hit us with several smiles throughout the session. Sweet!!
Welcome to the world, little guy. You’ve got some amazing parents!
