This mom and dad are soooo anxious to meet their new little one! I love this quiet moment between them – they’ll need to stock up, because those moments are few and far between once the little bundle arrives!
Yep, they’re expecting a girl . . .
They brought some props of their own (love it!!), and dad had this suggestion for the blocks. A clever fella, indeed! How cool is that? Guess what baby’s name will be? No fair – you cheated!!
Puppy Love! | San Diego High School Senior Photography
While working with this high school senior in La Jolla, this dog came by and simply inSISted in having his portrait done, too! Our girl here, is a real animal lover, so it was great! Joey, the dog, squished in close, snuck in a couple of kisses, and then got his “closeup” with a pretty girl!! Good times!
Here she is in her letterman jacket . . . lots of accomplishments patched on there!

We’re proud to announce (officially) the launch of our boudoir line – HAUTE! On August 28 and 29th, we will have a kick-off Art and Fashion Show at Twin Oaks Gallery in San Marcos, CA. The girls will be modeling lingerie and costumes provided by DejaVu Love Boutique – ooo la la! Complimentary food and dessert provided by Smoke House Grills – YUM!! We’ll also have wine tasting. All the ladies will receive a goody bag from DejaVu Love Boutique. PLUS, we’ll have some very cool prizes to raffle off! Tickets are $10 in advance, and $15 at the door. And here’s the best part: All proceeds benefit the Pink Envelope Project to help fight breast cancer. So come out for a sexy night with your honey, your “besties”, or just you!

NBC Throws a Wedding at the Prado – Update 2.0
Friday, August 21, 2009 – Well if you caught the NBC7/39 San Diego morning news this morning, you witnessed the announcement of the winning wedding dress for the wedding giveaway. Our bride, Stefanie will look just lovely in the gown by Anna Maier Ulla-Maija, furnished by M bride salon in La Jolla, CA.
Voting this week will focus on invitations. Don’t forget, voting ends 8/27/09. We’ve had the opportunity to meet with the invitation vendors, and each of them is featured on our blog: Get Carded, Dolldine Designs, and Seaside Papery. Seaside Papery is a cute little boutique located in Coronado, and I enjoyed a tour through the store. The butterfly display in the front window is quite the conversation starter!
Seaside Papery carries many lovely invitations from many designers, including Vera Wang, Crane’s, Kate Spade, and more. Here was one invitation that was very cool:

Get Carded is a very talented husband and wife team (Erika and Ron Whistler) who pride themselves on one-of-a-kind, completely personalized invitations. They also make unique event invitations, baby announcements, and more! Get Carded is a unique invitation design studio, owned and operated by husband and wife design duo, Erika (aka Riki) and Ron Whistler. They are traditionally trained Graphic Designers working together to create beautiful invitations. Having created the occasional invitation for bridal showers, baby showers and parties, Erika was quite familiar with the thought process and the commitment put forth to capture the essence of a well planned event. Their own wedding invitation was truly the start of their passion for specializing in invitation design. They loved the idea of branding their love story and thought it would be exciting to design invitations that fully express the unique bond between two people, a one of a kind masterpiece exclusive to only the couple. Through an interview and concept process, Get Carded creates personal relationships with their clients and generates a visual story that announces the most precious moments of their lives. This one was one of my favorites – this particular couple liked the park, so a park theme, complete with bunnies scampering about, was creatively designed. Love the gatefold!
Get Carded also has it’s own in-house letterpress! This was my first encounter with a letter press, and it is quite fascinating! The machine weighs over a ton, and is from the early 1900′s!

Meet Stefanie and Jerry, the lucky winners of NBC Throws a Wedding at the Prado!! Thousands of you voted (thank you!). Now, on October 9th, this lovely couple will take their vows, in an elegant wedding at The Prado. More than a dozen of San Diego’s highly talented wedding vendors have stepped up, and are providing their services to make sure this couple truly has the wedding of their dreams!
We’re so excited to get to know Stefanie and Jerry! We’ll keep you, dear reader, posted on all the wedding updates. Soon, we will be meeting with the couple for their engagement session. A couple of days ago, I had the pleasure of visiting the very elegant and chic M bride salon. Michele, the owner, has been working with top designers and wedding gowns for the last 23 years, and she is a seasoned pro, ladies. And the gowns were simply amazing! I have no idea how brides choose, with so many wonderful options!! Here are the 3 dresses to vote on for the NBC Throws a Wedding at the Prado event in October. Your votes will determine which dress the lucky bride gets to wear down the aisle! Voting closes on Thursday, August 20th, and the winning dress will be announced in NBC 7/39′s 6 a.m. news hour on August 21st.

NBC Throws a Wedding at the Prado!
If you live in beautiful San Diego, you’ve probably heard by now that NBC San Diego is throwing a wedding at the Prado, for one lucky couple. Dozens of couples submitted a video application, and it’s been narrowed down to 3 great couples. Late tonight, one of these couples will get the call that they will receive a dream wedding!! I’m sure they’re all on pins and needles right now. Today’s the last day to vote – so please watch their short video clips, and vote for the couple you’d like to see have the wedding of their dreams!
BlueFlair Photography is absolutely delighted to be providing the photography for the event! Baby Ava | San Diego Newborn Photography
Meet Ava, our most recent newborn to hit our studio. Isn’t she precious? She was so tiny and so mellow, and it was a fantastic session – even if she didn’t let mom and dad sleep a wink the night before! Her parents brought her in around day 8, which is perfect – she would still draw up in that cute, squishy curl, and didn’t get fussy as we moved her around. Can’t wait for mom and dad to see the rest of the photos – it was hard to pick just a handful for the blog!
Talk about a bundle of joy! Look at how sweet she looks curled up against mom!
